Welcome. I’m Jean Baveystock, author of historical fiction set in the tumultuous age of Napoleon.

My debut novel, Glory Beckons— Book One of the Three Men in a War book series—was released in May 2025, followed by Book Two, Fleeting Glory in March 2026.

A pair of epic novels that span the Napoleonic Wars, from the coronation of Napoleon and his preparations to invade England, to the disaster of the Russian invasion and the aftermath of Waterloo. All from the point of view of these three extraordinary men. Ney, Wilson and Bruce.

My take on Napoleonic novels is different. Napoleon plays a bit part. And battles are few and far between. This is the romantic story of three very different men. Historically correct, yes, I’ve made sure of that, based on true stories and eye-witness accounts. And yes, it did all happen! Even the servants and the all-important horses. And the love affairs. I haven’t had to bend the facts.
